The European Nations Cup (Euro 2024) is witnessing a fierce struggle for the Golden Boot award in the European Championship, where 6 players are equal with the same number of goals before playing the final match of the tournament.

The Olympic Stadium in Berlin will host the final match of the Euro 2024 tournament between Spain and England on Sunday evening.
The European Football Association (UEFA) confirmed that only the goals scored will be counted to determine the winner of the Golden Boot award, and that goal creation or minutes played will not be used as weighting factors in the event of a tie in the number of goals.
Harry Kane, captain of the English national team, and Dani Olmo, player of the Spanish national team, will compete for the “Golden Boot” award, which is given to the player who scores the most goals in the “Euro 2024” tournament held in Germany, when the two teams meet in the final of the tournament.
Kane and Olmo each scored three goals, the same number of goals scored by four other players, but their teams were eliminated from the tournament: Cody Jacobo (Netherlands), Jamal Musiala (Germany), Ivan Schranz (Slovakia), and Giorgis Mikautadze (Georgia).
The tournament may witness a repeat of what happened in the 2012 edition, where six players tied at the top of the scorers' standings, each with three goals.
In the Euro 2012 tournament, Fernando Torres (Spain), Mario Gomez (Germany), Mario Balotelli (Italy), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), Alan Dzagoev (Russia) and Mario Mandzukic (Croatia) were equal at the top of the scoring charts, but Torres took the lead. The tournament's top scorer award because he outperformed the other 5 players in that he played the least number of minutes, and therefore he has the greatest effectiveness, and consequently the tournament's top scorer officially, which is something we will not see in the "Euro 2024" tournament in the event of a tie between the 6 players, after... UEFA confirmed that goal assists or minutes played will not be used as weighting factors in the event of a tie in the number of goals.
Kane can add the top scorer award to the award he won in the 2018 World Cup, when he scored six goals, and also to the top scorer award in the German League, which he won last season when he scored 36 goals with Bayern Munich.
If he wins the continental championship title, Kane will win his first title in his career, while this title will be the biggest title won by Olmo, who won titles with Dinamo Zagreb and Leipzig.
Spaniard Fabian Ruiz and Englishman Jude Bellingham are also in a good position to win the Golden Boot award, as each of them scored two goals, or perhaps a new scorer will emerge in the match, as happened in the 2022 World Cup when Frenchman Kylian Mbappe scored three goals (a hat-trick) in the final match.
The achievement of former French star Michel Platini will remain, as he scored the most goals in only one edition, when he scored 9 goals in the 1984 edition, and the achievement of Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo will also remain, as he is the all-time top scorer in the Euro Championship with 14 goals.
