Barcelona leads the Spanish League by five, ahead of Betis

برشلونة يتصدر الدوري الإسباني بخماسية أمام بيتيس

Barcelona gave an impressive performance at home to crush Real Betis 5-0 and temporarily lead the Spanish Premier League.

Coach Xavi Hernandez's team raised its score to 13 points from five matches, one point ahead of its rival Real Madrid, which hosts Real Sociedad on Sunday.

New signing Joao Felix gave the defending champions the lead after 25 minutes from a tight angle on the right after missing the first attempt following a perfect pass from Oriol Romeu.

Robert Lewandowski doubled the lead an hour later, after Felix passed to the Polish striker, finishing the attack easily.

Ferran Torres scored his third goal of the season from a free kick in the 62nd minute, before substitute Rafinha added the fourth goal with a shot on the edge of the penalty area four minutes later.

Joao Cancelo scored his first goal since joining from Manchester City after a distinctive move to complete the scoring in the 81st minute.

Barcelona will meet Antwerp in the opening of its Champions League campaign next Tuesday, then host Celta Vigo in the Spanish League next week.
