German football star Toni Kroos officially bid farewell to the world of football on Sunday, with an emotional message, two days after the dramatic Machinery team's defeat by Spain in the quarter-finals of the European Championship (Euro 2024).

The winning goal scored by substitute midfielder Mikel Merino in the last minute of extra time gave Spain victory by two goals to one, crushing the dreams of the host country and writing the final chapter in Kroos’ football career.

Kroos, who was a member of the machinery team that won the World Cup in 2014, also thanked his fans, the clubs he joined, his coaches and his comrades, as well as his friends and family, adding that “there is nothing better than seeing your children proud of their father.”
Kroos won many titles with the teams he played with, although most of them were with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, where he scored
The Champions League six times, five of them with the Royal Club and once with Munich, three German Bundesliga championships, three German Cup championships, the German Super Cup once, five times in the European Super Cup, one time in the Spanish King’s Cup, and four times in the Spanish Super Cup. The 34-year-old player announced last May that he would retire after the end of the Euro 2024 tournament.
This means that his one hundred and fourteenth match with the German national team was his last.
