Former US President Donald Trump was seen descending the stairs of his plane without assistance after it landed in New Jersey early Sunday morning, according to a video clip posted by his election campaign on the “X” social networking site.
Trump, who was wearing a navy blue suit and a white shirt without a tie, could be seen descending the stairs of his plane while an armed security man was present at the scene.
The New York Times reported that Trump is in New Jersey, where he will spend the night.
What happened?
Trump was subjected to an apparent assassination attempt on Saturday during a rally in Pennsylvania, days before accepting the Republican nomination for a third time.
A barrage of gunfire sparked panic, and the Secret Service surrounded the bloodied man, who they said had been shot in his right ear.
Trump raced to his car while pumping his fist in the air in a show of defiance.
The Trump campaign said the presumptive Republican nominee was "doing fine" after the shooting.
"I immediately knew something was wrong, as I heard a buzzing sound and gunshots, and I immediately felt a bullet pierce the skin. There was a lot of bleeding," the former president wrote on his social media site.
At least one person was killed and two spectators were seriously injured, authorities said.
The Secret Service said it had killed the shooter, who it said attacked from a high vantage point outside the election rally venue in Butler, Pennsylvania, indicating that Trump was fine.
The FBI said during a news conference late Saturday that it was not prepared to reveal the identity of the shooter and had not yet determined the motive behind the assassination attempt.
