The Ministry of Finance confirmed that all data related to the salaries of employees in government agencies is not stored in its systems, and that financial transactions for all government agencies are continuing and proceeding normally, following the cyber attack it was subjected to last Monday, which infected one of its systems.
The Ministry said in a press statement today, “Since the first day of the cyberattack, the Ministry of Finance’s systems have been isolated from the rest of the government agencies’ systems. It has formed a technical team consisting of several parties headed by the National Center for Cybersecurity, and with the assistance of a specialized international company that is relied upon by major international private entities.” And the government, in combating this type of information crimes, by following a strict and systematic framework to recover from the effects of the cyber attack that took place on September 18, 2023 and to follow up on everything new and everything related to this cyber attack and deal with it in the utmost professionalism.
She stressed in her statement that “all data related to the salaries of employees in government agencies is not stored in the ministry’s systems, and that financial transactions for all government agencies are continuing and proceeding normally.” At the same time, she praised the national efforts of the technical team and workers in the Ministry of Finance who continued to work around the clock from the first hours of the cyberattack until the present time.
