The South Sudanese national team embarrassed the top basketball stars in the American national team, and almost snatched a historic victory in the last moments.
In a preparatory match for the 2024 Paris Olympics, the United States basketball team defeated the South Sudanese team with a score of 101-100.
The South Sudanese team was ahead during the match by 14 points at the end of half the match, before the NBA stars returned to victory.
LeBron James scored the winning basket, 8 seconds before the end, to settle the match and save America from great “embarrassment” before the Olympics.
It is noteworthy that the South Sudan national team is the only African representative in men's basketball at the Olympics.
The South Sudanese national team is in a group with the United States, Serbia and Puerto Rico in the Paris Olympics, which begins in a week.
