The American news site Axios revealed that senior Democrats in the administrations of Barack Obama and Bill Clinton are seeking to push President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.

The website said that senior Democrats in the Obama and Clinton administrations are conducting polls to publicly pressure Biden to withdraw.

According to Axios, Democratic lawmakers said about Biden’s conference: If the debate with Donald Trump had been this way, the matter of his eligibility to remain in the presidential race would not have escalated during the past two weeks.

They added that his performance in the press conference was better than his performance in the debate, but it was still not enough to recover, noting that Biden was coherent, but the “missteps he committed” overshadowed the entire performance.

It is noteworthy that Biden had committed two major mistakes or lapses yesterday, Thursday, that could destroy his standing in the candidacy or in the presidential race against Trump.

The website indicated that the "anti-Biden network" is expanding day after day, and is publishing opinion polls that show that Democrats will move from sure losers to big winners with a new candidate.

These Democrats view the electoral race from a stark perspective, specifically "black and white", as there are only 3 important states, namely Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, which are the states that represent the "blue wall", all of which Biden won in the 2020 elections.

They see an obvious solution: forget about supporting Biden or even Vice President Kamala Harris, and they strongly want to find the two people most likely to win these three states.

How the anti-Biden network works

Anti-Biden Democrats are exchanging text messages, emails and polls, battling fellow Democrats on television and X, distributing stories and arguments to sympathetic journalists and columnists.

Many are in talks with lawmakers to push their leaders to pressure Biden and his inner circle to withdraw from the presidential race, especially since they know that “Biden and his family seem unchangeable,” so they hope that overwhelming force will be used by the Obama family, the Clintons, Chuck Schumer, Jeffries, and Nancy Pelosi.

On the donor front, star George Clooney, who chaired the largest fundraising campaign in Democratic Party history last month, is a leading voice for a growing number of Hollywood stars who want Biden to finalize his candidacy.

This front includes Reed Hastings, co-founder of Netflix, and Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel.

It also includes a number of liberals, such as Stephen Colbert, who ran a large fundraising campaign for Biden last March, and is strongly pressing Biden to step aside, and there is also Jon Stewart, who has escalated his calls to choose a candidate other than Biden.

Besides them, there are New York Times opinion writers, such as Thomas Friedman and Nick Kristof, who say in their articles that Biden should go.
