The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior chairs a meeting of the Supreme Traffic Council under the title “Developing Public Transport”

Today, Sunday, 7/21/2024, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, chaired the twenty-first meeting of the Supreme Traffic Council, in the presence of its members from various ministries and authorities concerned with traffic.

At the beginning of the meeting, Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf welcomed the attendees and conveyed to them the greetings and appreciation of His Excellency the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, and his wishes to the Council members for success in their work and to continue finding scientific and practical solutions to traffic congestions and some traffic problems.


During the meeting, a visual presentation was made by the Secretary of the Supreme Traffic Council, Brigadier General Salem Muhammad Al-Ajmi and the Chairman of the Public Transport Committee emanating from the Supreme Traffic Council, during which he explained the committee’s observations on the negatives and defects that led to the decline and deterioration of public transportation services (buses) in the State of Kuwait. Presenting the committee’s suggestions and recommendations to improve and develop public transportation services for the benefit of citizens and residents, in order to keep pace with the development vision of the State of Kuwait to transform it into a financial and commercial center to achieve the goal of effective government administration, advanced infrastructure, and a distinguished international position.


The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior stressed the security leadership’s keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination between various governmental and private agencies in order to study all proposals that contribute to the smooth flow of traffic, whether through creative engineering ideas for roads and intersections, awareness and education, or tightening penalties.
