Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris leads Republican Donald Trump 42 percent to 37 percent, according to an Ipsos poll released Thursday.
Harris has extended her lead since a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted July 22-23 showed her leading 37 percent to 34 percent for Trump.
The poll of 2,045 eligible Americans nationwide, conducted Aug. 2-7, showed 4 percent of respondents supporting independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., up from 10 percent in July.
Ipsos conducted the August poll independently of Reuters.
Harris entered the race on July 21 when President Joe Biden, 81, dropped out of the race and endorsed her after a disastrous debate performance against Trump on June 27.
